• Unemployment rate: 4.2% in November 2007, one of the lowest in Canada
• Gross domestic product: 3.1% growth in 2006, superior to the national GDP, 2.7%
• Natural resources: fresh water, cereal plants and wheat, base metals (nickel, copper and zinc), fishing, forestry, hydroelectricity, oil, and other minerals.
